England captain Jos Buttler's horrific form in the 2023 World Cup continued as he was dismissed for just eight runs off six balls against Sri Lanka in Bengaluru on Thursday, October 26.
Lahiru Kumara was getting the ball to nip both ways and Buttler just tried to drive the delivery on the up without any foot movement. He could only edge the delivery and wicketkeeper Kusal Medis completed a fantastic catch by diving to his right.
Jos Buttler has scored just 95 runs in five innings in the World Cup and just hasn't been able to live up to the expectations or lead by example. Fans on X slammed Buttler for his poor form and here are some of the reactions:

After losing three games out of four, England arguably had to come out all guns blazing against Sri Lanka in a bid to make a strong comeback in the World Cup. However, so far it has been anything other than strong as they have been blown away by the Sri Lankan bowling.
Electing to bat first, England just kept on losing wickets at regular intervals and were bundled out for just 156. This is certainly not the response that they would have hoped for after having their back against the wall.
Sri Lanka will fancy their chances of chasing down the total as the pitch doesn't seem to have any demons in it. England will need an inspirational spell to make a comeback.
