Former West Indies all-rounder Dwayne Bravo announces his retirement at the end of the 2024 Caribbean Premier League. The 40-year-old took to his social media to announce the same.
Bravo has been a T20 journeyman ever since the introduction of franchise leagues. He started by playing for the Mumbai Indians in the IPL and then joined Trinbago Knight Riders. The all-rounder boasts a solid CV of the teams he has played for, with over 600 wickets in the shortest format of the game.
Bravo took to his official account on Instagram and posted a video with the following caption:
"It’s been a great journey. Today I would like to announce my retirement from @cplt20. This season will be my last one ☝ and I’m looking forward to a playing my final professional tournament in front of my Caribbean ppl! @tkriders - where it all started for me and will end with my team that I help built from scratch!"

Dwayne Bravo hung up his boot from international cricket back in 2021, after West Indies failed to defend its crown in the 2021 ICC Men's T20 World Cup. He announced his international retirement in 2018 but reversed the decision to play for the Caribbean.
Associated with Chennai Super Kings, Bravo also announced his retirement from the league after the franchise won its fifth IPL title. Since then, he has been associated with the team as their bowling coach, helping pacers like Matheesha Pathirana and Tushar Deshpande.
Bravo continues to play for CSK's sister franchise, Texas Super Kings, in the Major League Cricket. The 40-year-old also made headlines after he was announced as Afghanistan's bowling mentor for the 2024 ICC Men's T20 World Cup. Afghanistan recorded their best-ever finish in a T20 World Cup, playing the semi-finals against South Africa which they lost by nine wickets.
