Musheer Khan showed his class in the Duleep Trophy clash between India A and India B at M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru on Day 1 (Thursday, September 5). The right-handed batter stayed unbeaten on 105 runs off 227 balls, a knock laced with two sixes and 10 boundaries. The No. 3 stood his ground as wickets fell on the other end to justify his selection in the first-class tournament.

Musheer shared a crucial 108-run unbeaten stand with Navdeep Saini (29 off 74) after India B were reduced to 94/7. Notably, Musheer was the second-highest run-scorer at the 2024 U19 World Cup. He amassed 360 runs in seven innings, hitting two centuries.

In first-class career, he has already scored 529 runs in 10 innings so far. Earlier this year, he scored a double century for Mumbai against Baroda in the Ranji Trophy.

Fans and cricketers lauded Musheer Khan for his ton in the Duleep Trophy. India's T20I captain Suryakumar Yadav shared a dialogue from MS Dhoni's biopic, writing:

"What a knock Musheer khan! Supported really well by Navdeep Saini. Duty ke baad roz practice, jitna duty utna practice [Practice daily after duty, the more duty the more practice]."

Former India cricketer and Kenya's new coach Dodda Ganesh wrote:

"Musheer Khan, what a knock!"

Musheer Khan’s century helped India B get to 202/7 at the stumps on Day 1. Yashasvi Jaiswal also chipped in with 30 off 59 deliveries, including six boundaries.

However, big guns Sarfaraz Khan (9 off 35), Rishabh Pant (7 off 10), Nitish Reddy (golden duck), and Washington Sundar (duck) looked clueless against India A's bowling attack. Khaleel Ahmed, Akash Deep, and Avesh Khan bagged two wickets apiece.
