The inaugural edition of the CSA Women Pro50 2024/25 kicked off on October 5 in Durban, South Africa. The ongoing one-day tournament will run till March 22, 2025 along with CSA Women’s Pro20 series 2024/25.
The tournament will run across six venues, including Kingsmead in Durban, Mangaung Oval in Bloemfontein, Newlands Cricket Ground in Cape Town, Recreation Ground in Port Elizabeth, Wanderers Stadium in Johannesburg, and Supersport Park in Centurion.
Dolphins, Knights, Lions, South Western Districts, Titans, and Western Province are the six teams participating in the ongoing 50-over tournament.
The Division 1 teams offer contracts to 11 players each, including High Performance and nationally contracted players. This is a pivotal move towards enhancing the quality of the game, providing a more competitive and better-supported platform for top-tier players.
High Performance Contract players include Babette de Leede, Jemma Botha, and Julandi Saayman. Meanwhile, among the nationally contracted players are Laura Wolvaardt, the South African Women's team captain, Marizanne Kapp, Tazmin Brits, Anneke Bosch, and Nonkululeko Mlaba. Currently, they are occupied with their commitments in the Women's T20 World Cup 2024 and are expected to join the tournament in November.
