Guyana Amazon Warriors blanked St Lucia Kings by six wickets in match 10 of the CPL 2024 season at Gros Islet. The outcome helped the Warriors claim top spot on the points table with three wins from three matches at a formidable NRR of 2.527.

Unbeaten Barbados Royals, with two successive wins so far, remain at number two on the six-team standings. St Lucia Kings lost the top spot and slipped to number three after their six-wicket larruping at the hands of the Warriors.

Trinbago Knight Riders take fourth spot on the table with a win and a loss from two games and a NRR of 0.950. Antigua & Barbuda Falcons retained the fifth position with a solitary win in five attempts and a dismal NRR of -0.687.

St Kitts & Nevis Patriots continue to languish at the bottom of the standings with two points from five games. Their NRR of -1.183 remains the worst among all competing teams in the CPL 2024 season.


Gudakesh Motie, Imran Tahir help pummel St Lucia Kings

Batting first, St Lucia Kings were bowled out for 100 from 14.3 overs. Matthew Forde at number eight top-scored with 31 off 21 balls to lift his team after they had slipped to 49/6 at one stage. For Guyana Amazon Warriors, spinners Gudakesh Motie (3/16) and Imran Tahir (3/29) weaved their magic agianst the middle and lower order.

Fast bowler Dwaine Pretorius removed dangerman and St Lucia Kings captain Faf du Plessis, while Keemo Paul registered figures of 2/19 from two overs.

Chasing 101, the Warriors mowed down their target in just 10 overs for the loss of four wickets. Openers Tim Robinson and Rahmanullah Gurbaz wiped out 62 off those runs on their own inside the first six overs.

Gurbaz top-scored with an attacking 47 off 19 balls with seven sixes, while Robinson made 33 from 20 balls. Their successive dismissals at the hands of Noor Ahmad (3/22) made little difference to the Kings' cause as the Warriors eventually romped home to a six-wicket win.
