Mohammad Amir shines with a three-fer for the Falcons; Hasaranga’s heroics in vain

St Kitts & Nevis Patriots were tasked to bat first after losing the toss. Opening batters Evin Lewis (5) and Andre Fletcher (9) failed to live up to expectations. Middle-order batters Kyle Mayers (22), Wanindu Hasaranga (23) and Rilee Rossouw (20) were promising.

Mikyle Louis then put up a show with a breathtaking 63-run knock in 36 balls with two fours and seven sixes at an exceptional strike rate of 175. Eventually, Patriots posted a good-looking total of 153/8 in 20 overs after collapsing to 60/4 in 8.3 overs.

Mohammad Amir was the wrecker-in-chief with a three-wicket haul, conceding 27 runs in four overs. Imad Wasim and Fabian Allen scalped two wickets apiece with Kofi James picking up one wicket.

In the chase, Brandon King scored 29 in 16 with three fours and two sixes. Justin Greaves (30 in 16) with four fours, and one six, and Kofi James (20 in 16) with two fours and one six also shined in the initial few overs.

Imad Wasim (17*), Roshon Primus (15), and Fabian Allen (13*) were exceptional in the death overs. They held their nerves to seal the deal for their side with two balls left and two wickets in hand. Wanindu Hasaranga's four-fer went in vain for the Patriots.
