Antigua and Barbuda Falcons secured their first win of the 2024 CPL on Thursday, September 5. They beat Trinbago Knight Riders by six runs in the eighth match of the competition.
After being tasked to bat first, the Falcons posted a good-looking total of 176/6 in 20 overs, thanks to top and middle-order batters' valuable scores. Sunil Narine and Waqar Salamkheil scalped two wickets apiece. Fakhar Zaman (38), Justin Greaves (37), and Imad Wasim (46) were the star batters while Fabian Allen (25* off 11) was the wrecker-in-chief in the death overs.
In response, Trinbago Knight Riders managed 170/9 in 20 overs, losing the game by a mere six-run margin. Andries Gous (39), Shaqkere Parris (31), Keacy Carty (34), and Kieron Pollard (30) tried their best to take their side over the line but failed by a whisker.
After shining earlier with the bat with a cameo, Fabian Allen pocketed a three-wicket haul, conceding only 23 runs in four overs for the Falcons. On the other hand, Roshon Primus scalped two wickets for 40 runs in four overs.

Patriots pacer Anrich Nortje retained his third rank with six scalps at 24.5. Fabian Allen, the Falcons spin bowling all-rounder, rocketed from the 18th to the fourth rank with five wickets at 19.2.
Knight Riders spinner Sunil Narine ascended from the 15th to the sixth rank with four scalps at 14. Falcons' bowler Roshon Primus propelled from the 12th rank to the seventh slot with four scalps at 15.25.
