Antigua & Barbuda Falcons and Guyana Amazon Warriors met in the second match of the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) 2024 on Friday, August 30, at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium in North Sound, Antigua.
Warriors opted to bowl first and held the Falcons to 168/6, with Gudakesh Motie taking three wickets. Fakhar Zaman and Imad Wasim scored 40 runs each while Kofi James added 37. Sam Billings and Jewel Andrew hit 10 runs each and Fabian Allen chipped in with 11 runs in the lower-middle order.
In reply, following Motie’s dismissal in the first over, Rahmanullah Gurbaz scored 20 off 14 while Shai Hope smashed 41 off 34 with four boundaries. Shimron Hetmyer (19) and Keemo Paul (10) made some handy contributions but Romario Shepherd’s 32 from 16 and Dwaine Pretorius’ unbeaten 20 guided the Warriors a three-wicket win.
Imad, Chris Green, and Shamar Springer took two wickets each while Allen took one.
CPL 2024 Most Runs List
Fakhar Zaman scored 40 runs in the previous game and moved from second to first spot with 83 runs. Jewel Andrew slipped to second with 60 runs while his teammate Kofi James jumped from eighth to third with 59 runs.
Shai Hope played a 41-run knock in the previous game and claimed the fourth spot. Imad Wasim jumped to fifth position after scoring 40 runs on Friday while Kyle Mayers (39) dropped from third position to sixth.
Fabian Allen retained his seventh position with 35 while Romario Shepherd (32) climbed up to eighth and Evin Lewis descended to ninth. Sam Billings also moved to 10th position with 28 runs.
CPL 2024 Most Wickets List
Shamar Springer continued to dominate the CPL 2024 wickets leaderboard with six wickets. Meanwhile, Gudakesh Motie secured a three-wicket haul and jumped to third. Similarly, Imad Wasim (3) took two wickets in the same match to climb up from seventh to third spot.
Roshon Primus dropped from second to fourth while his teammate Chris Green took the fifth position after picking up two wickets in the previous game.
Ashmead Nedd, Tabraiz Shamsi, Anrich Nortje, Dominic Drakes, and Dwaine Pretorius are occupying the next five spots with one wicket each.
