Pakistan's Umar Akmal was subjected to online trolling after he misspelt the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in a congratulatory post. The wicketkeeper-batter made a spelling mistake while reacting to the team's Indian Premier League (IPL 2024) triumph.

Taking to the microblogging platform X, Akmal went on to write 'KKL' instead of KKR while congratulating the franchise. The cricket star's post read:

"Congratulations to #kkl on winning #ipl third trophy @KKRiders @IPL‘s @GautamGambhir @ShreyasIyer15."

Akmal became the butt of all jokes for post and was trolled by fans on social media. Here are some of the top reactions:

Certain fans trolled Umar Akmal for not getting KKR's name right in his post. It is worth mentioning that this wasn't the first time the 34-year-old's wrong English triggered hilarious reactions.

"KKR likhna sikh jaao pehle fir hashtag banana." commented a fan.
"Ary bhai KKL konse team hai" wrote another.
"Congratulations KKL on winning IPR." joked yet another.

KKR beat the SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH) by eight wickets in a one-sided IPL 2024 final at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on Sunday, May 26, to win their third title. SRH registered the lowest-ever score in an IPL final, getting bundled out for just 113.

Kolkata chased down te target with ease in just 10.3 overs, finishing as the champions of the 2024 edition.

Umar Akmal was trolled heavily last year after his birthday post for Virat Kohli went viral

Virat Kohli celebrated his 35th birthday on November 5 last year. Many fans and members of the cricket fraternity wished India's ace batter on social media, and Umar Akmal was also one of them.

However, Akmal was targetted by some fans for his English. The Pakistani player also tagged Sachin Tendulkar in his post for Kolhi.

Umar Akmal posted on Virat Kohli's birthday:

"Happy birthday brother @imVkohli to king in India sir @sachin_rt @BCCI."

Umar Akmal's last appearance in international cricket came in a T20I match against Sri Lanka in October 2019. The right-handed batter has 5,887 runs to his name in international cricket across formats.
