England vice-captain Ollie Pope's struggles with the bat continued as he was dismissed early in the second innings of the second Test against Pakistan in Multan on Day 4 (Friday, October 18). The right-handed batter departed for 22 runs off 38 balls, drawing criticism from fans on social media. He was dismissed by Sajid Khan in the second over of the day to leave the visitors reeling at 37-3 in a 297 chase.
This was Pope’s third consecutive failure in Pakistan in the ongoing Test series. The 26-year-old had managed 29 off 37 deliveries in the first innings. He was dismissed for a duck in the first Test at the same venue.
Fans on X slammed Pope for yet another dismal performance against Pakistan. One user wrote:

A clinical bowling display in the second innings of the second Test has placed Pakistan in a commanding position against England in Multan.
At the time of writing, the visitors were 74/4, with skipper Ben Stokes and Harry Brook at the crease. Sajid Khan and Noman Ali have bagged two wickets apiece for the hosts.
Pakistan scored 366 in their first innings, courtesy of a century from Kamran Ghulam. In response, England were bundled out for 291, giving away a 75-run first innings lead to the Men in Green. Ben Duckett top scored with 114 off 129, a knock laced with 16 boundaries.
