Chhattisgarh Cricket Premier League 2024 Points Table: Updated standings after Raipur Rhinos vs Bilaspur Bulls, Match 1

The six teams participating in the Chattishgarh Cricket Premier League 2024 will face off against each other. All 18 tournament matches will be played at Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh International Cricket Stadium in Raipur.

The first match of the Chhattisgarh Cricket Premier League was played on June 7, Friday which witnessed Bilaspur Bulls meeting horns with Raipur Rhinos. On the opening encounter of the tournament, Shashank Singh’s Bilaspur Bulls defeated Amandeep Khare’s Raipur Rhinos by 22 runs. This victory led Bilaspur to rank at the top of the points table with an NRR of +1.100.

On the other hand, Raipur Rhinos are settled to the bottom of the points table with an NRR of -1.100. They hope to make a strong comeback in the next game being played on June 9 against Bastar Bisons.

Shashank Singh and Md. Irfan’s stellar all-round performance ensures victory for the Bilaspur Bulls

Raipur Rhinos won the toss and pushed Bilaspur Bulls to bat first. The Bulls struggled at the start as wickets were falling at regular intervals.

Bilaspur Bulls did well to reach 166 losing seven wickets after a horrible start of 49/4 inside seven overs. However, an exceptional thriller was beheld when the middle-order trio of Shashank, Irfan, and Prateek scored 110 runs. Irfan played a magnificent inning blistering 52 runs off 42 deliveries with five boundaries and a six.

Shashank Singh played a captaincy knock scoring 33 off 24 balls. He was backed by a quick-fire knock from Prateek Yadav’s 11 balls 25 runs inning smashing four boundaries and a six. On the other hand, Prashant Sai Painkra and Ashish Chouhan were the pick-off bowlers amassing 3/43 and 2/30 respectively.

In response to this total, Raipur Rhinos had a wonderful start when their openers gunned the innings. However, the fall of the captain Amandeep Khare created a downfall and wickets started to fall at a quick pace. Eventually, this restricted the Raipur Rhinos to scoring just 144 losing 10 wickets inside 18.3 overs.

Anuj Tiwary was the standout batter scoring 43 runs, but without any support from his team members subsequently resulted in a loss. The bowling units of Bilaspur went outstanding, with the heroics of the duo all-rounders Shashank and Irfan. They scalped three and four wickets respectively, helping Bilaspur Bulls to clinch the victory.
