Australian seamer Scott Boland reckons it's unusual for India to get bowled out the way they did on Day 2 of the opening Test against New Zealand in Bengaluru. The 35-year-old lauded the Kiwi fielders for catching almost everything coming their way.

The visitors made the most of the overcast conditions on Day 2 in Bengaluru after the first day was completely washed off. Matt Henry took a fifer, while Will O'Rourke finished with four to bundle India out for 46, making it their lowest Test total on home soil.

Speaking to reporters on Friday, October 18, Boland claimed he is looking forward to the five-match Test series between India and Australia.

He was quoted as saying by Perth Now:

"I was just watching it before in the (MCG cafe). It looked like they just nicked everything, and (New Zealand) took some awesome catches. It’s a bit different to see India get bowled out like that in India. I think with the class in our bowling attack, if there’s a little bit in the wicket, they’ll find it and put their batters under the pump."

Boland was part of the 2023 World Test Championship (WTC) final against India at The Oval in London. He took five scalps as Australia won the summit clash by 209 runs.

The Victorian, whose county stint with Durham was cut off due to a foot injury, said that it was a blessing in disguise as he got home early to prepare for the summer.

Boland added in the same interaction:

"I'm really looking forward to it. I feel like it’s been a pretty long pre-season, but I’m keen to get back into it on Sunday. Looking at the bigger picture, I’ve still got plenty of time to get into the season. I planned to have a really big winter of playing cricket at Durham, but I think it’s a bit of a blessing in disguise that I came home early, was able to get my body right and prepare for the summer.”

The right-arm seamer will be in action when Victoria face New South Wales in the Sheffield Shield fixture, beginning on Sunday, October 20. He also last played a Test against England last year in Leeds.
