Bengaluru weather forecast October 19: What are the chances of rain on Day 4 of the 1st IND vs NZ 2024 Test?

After Day 1 of the first Test between India and New Zealand at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru was washed out due to rain, two full days of play have been possible. After being bundled out for a mere 46 on Day 2, India staged an impressive fightback on Day 3 courtesy of their batters.

Earlier, New Zealand resumed their first innings on 180-3 and ended up posting 402. The hosts picked up a few early wickets, but Rachin Ravindra (134) and Tim Southee (65) played fine knocks to take the Kiwis past 400. In their second innings, India went to stumps at 231-3. Sarfaraz Khan was unbeaten on 70, while Virat Kohli was out for 70 off the last ball. Skipper Rohit Sharma also scored 52.

Weather permitting, fans could be in for an absorbing day of Test cricket on Saturday. Looking at the forecast in Bengaluru for Day 4, AccuWeather states that it will be mostly cloudy in the morning, with the temperature in the range of 25 degrees Celsius. The probability of precipitation is low at 13 percent even as the cloud cover is likely to be 100 percent and humidity 85 percent.

The weather prediction for the afternoon in Bengaluru states that it will remain mostly cloudy with the temperature being around 26 degree Celsius. The probability of precipitation and cloud cover remains the same as morning, but the humidity level is likely to fall to 74 percent.

Shifting the focus to the evening weather forecast in Bengaluru on Day 4 of the Test, the conditions are likely to be partly cloudy, with the temperature falling to around 21 degrees Celsius. The probability of precipitation is as low as nine percent; the cloud cover is predicted to be at 78 percent, while humidity is likely to be 87 percent. Going by the weather forecast, fans can expect a full day's play on Saturday too.


Local boy KL Rahul needs to come to the party in Bengaluru

Local lad KL Rahul was among the five Indian batters who were dismissed without scoring in the first innings in Bengaluru as the hosts succumbed to 46 all-out. However, he has a chance to make amends as India will look to continue their fightback with the bat on Day 4 of the Test match.

With Kohli being dismissed on the last ball of Day 3, Rahul is likely to come out to bat with Sarfaraz on Day 4 on Saturday. India will be hoping for a big knock from him in their endeavor to set a challenging fourth-innings total for New Zealand.
