On Sunday, June 16, 2024, Rashmi Medinipur Wizards and Lux Shyam Kolkata Tigers locked horns in the 10th Bengal Pro T20 League 2024 match. Sobisco Smashers Malda went up against Adamas Howrah Warriors in the next game on the day.

Sobisco Smashers Malda moved from the second to the top spot after a 36-run victory against Adamas Howrah Warriors. Murshidabad Kings dropped to second with two wins in two games, boasting a net run rate of +1.314.

Servotech Siliguri Strikers retained their third spot, having won two matches out of three games. Rashmi Medinipur Wizards defeated Kolkata Tigers in the previous game and grabbed their maiden win by nine wickets. They currently find themselves in the fourth position on the leaderboard with two points each.

Shrachi Rarh Tigers are now placed fifth in the points table with one win in two games. Similarly, Adamas Howrah Warriors and Kolkata Tigers occupy the next two spots with two losses in three games. Harbour Diamonds hold the wooden spoon with three losses in as many games.

Malda Smashers propel to the top; Medinipur Wizards grab first success

Rashmi Medinipur Wizards defeated Lux Shyam Kolkata Tigers in the first game of the day. Bowling first, they limited Kolkata Tigers to 120/9 with Vaibhav Yadav and Shreyan Swarup Chakraborty claiming two wickets each. Abhishek Porel was the top scorer for the Tigers, scoring 30 off 40. Sandeep Tomar (21), Karan Lal (19), and Ronit Ghosh also added some runs to the total.

In reply, Wizards’ Wriddhiman Saha’s 36 off 22 was backed by a match-winning knock from Priyanshu Gaurav (54 off 48) and Vivek Singh’s 34 off 31. Sayan Sankar Ghosh took the solitary wicket of Saha.

In the following game, Sobisco Smashers Malda were restricted to 122/10. Writtick Chatterjee (30) and Writam Porel (34) were among the top contributors to Malda. Soumyadip Mandal, Aamir Gani, and Saksham Chaudhary picked up two wickets apiece while the rest of them took one.

In reply, Adamas Howrah Warriors were bowled out to 86/10. Anustup Majumdar scored 23 off 25 while the rest were dismissed under 20 runs. Delhi Capitals star bowler Mukesh Kumar led the bowling attack with a four-fer while Akhll assisted with a three-wicket haul.
