Bud CC secured a five-wicket win over New Star Club in the seventh match of Assam T20 Pride Cup 2024 while Gauhati Town Club also bagged a five-wicket win against Ankurjyoti Club in the eighth game.

Moving to the day's first game, Bud CC tasked New Star Club to bat first. Captain Arun Sonar scored 36 runs in 39 balls with two fours and one six. Bhaskar Kalita scalped a three-fer, conceding 11 runs in his three-over spell.

In reply, Bud CC finished off the game with 17.1 overs and five wickets in hand. No. 4 batter Manikarna Sarma scored 22 runs in 23 balls while Dibash Hazarika scored 28* runs in 29 balls.

In the second match of the day, Ankurjyoti batted first and scored a total of 116/6 in 20 overs. Captain Akash Basfor scored 24 runs while Victor Kashyap smacked 22 runs in 32 balls. In the middle and death overs, Tej Khan scored 24* runs in 11 balls with three sixes.

In response, Gauhati Town Club opener Prithwirup Choudhary (20) and captain Yuvraj Tewari (48*) stood tall to seal the deal for their side with a five-wicket win with five balls to spare in the chase.

Yogesh Tiwari continues to lead the batting charts with 74 runs from two innings. Victor Kashyap moved up from fourth to second spot with 66 runs from three matches. Gauhati Town Club skipper Yuvraj Tewari rocketed from 20th to sixth position with 65 runs from two innings.

Bishal Sharma slid from third to fourth position with 58 runs. Akash Basfor moved up from seventh to fifth spot with 56 runs. Raj Pathak slipped from second to sixth, having accumulated 55 runs.

Dibash Hazarika ascended from 14th to seventh spot with 50 runs. Arnab Borah slipped from sixth to eighth with 45 runs. Wasiqur Rahman glided down from fifth to ninth rank with 39 runs. Arun Sonar moved up to 10th rank with 36 runs in his first game of the season.

Bhaskar Kalita ascended from fourth to pole position in the bowling charts with seven scalps. Kangkan Talukdar and Amit Sinha slid one spot each to get to second and third, scalping five wickets apiece at 7.4 and 7 respectively.

Tushar Saha moved one slot up to get to the fourth position with five wickets at 11.2. Akash Chetri slipped from third to fifth with five wickets at 10.8. Mantu Yadav ascended one spot to sixth with four scalps at 6.5.

Pushparaj Sharma descended one spot to the seventh position with four scalps at 9.5. Fazaruddin Ahmed moved two spots up to eighth with three wickets at 10.

Ranjan Sarkar retained his ninth spot with three wickets at 19.67. Nishchay Sharma rocketed from 21st to the 10th position with three wickets at 13.
