The eighth match of the 2024 Andhra Premier League season witnessed a high-scoring battle between the winless Godavari Titans and Bezawada Tigers at the Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy Cricket Stadium in Visakhapatnam.

With both sides desperate to register their opening points of the tournament, the Titans came up clutch in the final over to secure a thrilling one-run win. Later in the evening, the Vizag Warriors bottled an easy run-chase to hand the Coastal Riders a three-run victory.

Despite the outcome, the Uttarandhra Lions continue to occupy the top spot on the APL 2024 points table, having registered wins in each of their two fixtures with emphatic margins. Meanwhile, the defeat made little difference to Warriors’ prospects as they retained their second place on the six-team standings.

The Rayalaseema Kings have accumulated eight points so far courtesy of two wins from three games. Their NRR of 0.319 places them at number three behind table-toppers Lions (2.726) and Vizag Warriors (0.830).

The Riders jumped up to number four on the table owing to their latest win over the Warriors, and they lag behind the Kings courtesy of an inferior NRR (-1.903 as opposed to Rayalaseema’s 0.319).

The Titans, who jumped to number four earlier in the day, slipped back to the fifth spot with an NRR of -0.302. The Tigers, on the other hand, continue to remain at the bottom of the APL 2024 points table owing to their winless run so far this season. Moreover, their NRR stands at a dismal -0.327 at the moment.
