Andhra Premier League 2024 Most Runs and Most Wickets after Uttarandhra Lions vs Rayalaseema Kings ft. Shaik Rasheed and Kodavandla Sudharsan

Vizag Warriors outperformed Coastal Riders by eight wickets in the Eliminator of the 2024 Andhra Premier League on Thursday, July 11. Vizag Warriors won the toss and invited Coastal Riders to have a bat. Their bowlers Gavvala Mallikarjuna (2/14) and Pathuri Manohar (2/6) restricted the Riders to 153/7 from 20 overs.

Wicketkeeper Lekhaz Reddy top-scored for the side with 43 runs from 27 balls, while unbeaten number three Abhishek Reddy listed a near run-a-ball 42. Chasing 157, opener Ashwin Hebbar and captain Srikar Bharat bashed masterclass half-centuries to steer the Vizag Warriors to a win with six balls to spare.

In the first qualifier match at Visakhapatnam’s Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy ACA-VDCA Stadium later in the evening, Uttarandhra Lions obliterated Rayalaseema Kings to qualify for the finals. The Lions restricted Rayalaseema Kings to just 130/7 courtesy of two wickets each from Ajay Kumar, Yadla Vasu, and Sirla Srinivas. Uttarandhra Lions opener Sanaboyina Tarun (60*) and captain Pinninti Tapaswi (34) powered them to a six-wicket win in the 18th over of the match.

Coastal Riders captain Shaik Rasheed scored 24 in the Eliminator to stay at the top of the 2024 Andhra Premier League batting charts with 297 runs. Vizag Warriors top-order batters Ashwin Hebbar (284 runs) and (267 runs) both clubbed match-winning half-centuries against the Riders. They jumped to number two and number three respectively.

Abhishek Reddy, with 42*, extended his season’s tally to 211 runs to find himself just a run above fifth-placed Prasanth Kumar (210 runs). Only two runs separate P Avinash and Sanaboyina Tarun at number six and seven with 189 and 187 respectively. P Roshan Kumar Pavan (165 runs), Vamsi Krishna (148 runs), and Dhruva Kumar Reddy (146 runs) take up the final three slots on the top 10 list.

Kodavandla Sudharsan picked up figures of 1/27 against Coastal Riders in the Eliminator to become the first bowler of the season to scalp 10 wickets. Kaldhi Ajay Kumar, Shaik Kamaruddin, and Yeddala Reddy jointly hold nine wickets each to be placed among the top four bowlers of the competition.

Prithvi Raj, Gavvala Mallikarjuna, Satyanarayana Raju, Bandaru Ayyappa, and Shambu Akhil have all snapped seven wickets. They occupy the next five slots on the leading wicket-takers charts to lead tenth-placed Sirla Srinivas (six wickets).
