The 14th match of the Andhra Premier League 2024 was played between Godavari Titans and Coastal Riders on Tuesday, July 9. Brilliant bowling spells from Yarragunta Pramod (3 for 52) and S Ashish (2 for 16) helped the Riders restrict Godavari Titans to 138 in the first innings.
Vamsi Krishna top-scored with the bat, amassing 29 off 24. Overall, it was a disappointing performance with the bat for the side. In response, Coastal Riders chased down the score in just 17.3 overs. Once again, Shaik Rasheed played a handy knock of 39 off 33 balls. However, it was Abhishek Reddy, who stole the show with his unbeaten knock of 61 off 42.
Meanwhile, the 15th match was played between Uttarandhra Lions and Bezawada Tigers. Despite a 70-run knock off 56 deliveries from Dhruva Kumar Reddy, Bezawada Tigers could only manage to score 126 runs in the first innings. He lacked support from the other end as wickets kept falling regularly.
Pinninti Tejaswi was the pick of the bowlers for Bezawada Tigers as he claimed two wickets for 14 runs in four overs. In pursuit of the target, Uttarandhra Lions had lost four wickets for just 30 runs on the board. However, Sirla Hima Srinivas (42 off 32) and Seeram Venkata Rahul (38 off 43) then joined hands and put on a brilliant 75-run partnership for the fifth wicket.
It helped the team chase down the score with four balls remaining in the end. As for the Tigers’ bowling, Lalith Mohan and Akash Gaddipathi picked two wickets each.
