Australia faced Scotland in the 35th match of the 2024 T20 World Cup on Sunday, June 16, at the Daren Sammy National Cricket Stadium in Gros Islet, St Lucia.

Australia won the toss and elected to bowl. Scotland lost their first wicket for just three runs. Then, George Munsey and Brandon McMullen added 89 runs for the second wicket. McMullen amassed 60 runs off 34 deliveries and was the highest scorer for Scotland. Richie Berrington remained unbeaten on 42 runs off 31 balls.

Scotland posted a total of 180 runs for the loss of five wickets in 20 overs. Glenn Maxwell was the pick of the bowlers and took two wickets for 44 runs in four overs.

Australia lost their first two wickets for 34 runs. Travis Head made 68 runs off 49 deliveries, while Marcus Stoinis scored 59 runs off 29 balls. In the end, Tim David and Matthew Wade added 31 runs for the sixth wicket. Australia reached the target of 181 runs in 19.4 overs with five wickets in hand.

Mark Watt and Safyaan Sharif took two wickets each for Scotland. Stoinis won the Player of the Match award for his batting performance.
