NatWest T20 game suspended after Rory Burns and Moises Henriques collide while fielding

NatWest T20 Blast game between Surrey Cricket and Sussex has suspended after two fielders collided on the outfield. The Surrey players, Rory Burns and Moises Henriques were hurt in the 19th over during Sussex's innings.

The two on-field umpires Jeremy Lloyds and Alex Wharf immediately stopped the game to allow the players to get medical treatment. Soon, the ambulance arrived and both the players were taken to the Chichester Hospital. Now, both the players have been hospitalised and are conscious at the moment.

Journalist Bruce Talbot, who was covering the match, has said that it was one of the worst accidents he had seen during a match.

"I have been watching county cricket for 20 to 25 years and I have never seen an incident like this before," the journalist was quoted saying by BBC Sports.

"Within seconds it was evident this was a serious incident."

One more journalist named Kevin Howells, said Burns, 24, and Henriques, 28, collided as they tried to take a catch.

"They were equidistant away and both went for the ball. Rory Burns stuck both thumbs up when he was taken away," he added.

Sussex were 141 for 7 after 18.4 overs when the collision happened. Chris Adams, who played for England, said the decision to stop the match was the correct one.

"Not one person in that ground showed displeasure at that decision, in fact there was a round of applause when it was abandoned, well done to the authorities, particularly the medical teams who were out there very, very swiftly. It was a sickening collision and they got absolutely brilliant treatment and attention."
