The Madhya Pradesh T20 League is an upcoming domestic franchise T20 tournament organized by the Gwalior Division Cricket Association (GDCA) under the Madhya Pradesh Cricket Association (MPCA). The tournament is scheduled to begin on Saturday, June 15, and will conclude on Sunday, June 23. This will be the inaugural edition of the tournament as well.
A total of 12 matches will be played in the first edition of the tournament. All the matches of the Madhya Pradesh T20 League 2024 are scheduled to be played at the MPCA International Cricket Stadium in Gwalior.
A total of five teams will battle it out for the ultimate prize in the maiden edition of the tournament. These five teams are Gwalior Cheetahs, Bhopal Leopards, Jabalpur Lions, Malwa Panthers, and Rewa Jaguars.
Madhya Pradesh League (MPL) chairman Mahanaaryaman Scindia expressed excitement ahead of the opening game. He also expects to see more teams and players play in the future.
Each team consists of one icon player. Mohammad Arshad Khan, who represented Mumbai Indians in the recent edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL), is the icon player for Bhopal Leopards. All-rounder Venkatesh Iyer, who played an integral role in Kolkata Knight Riders' (KKR) triumph this season, being their third-highest run-getter, is the icon player for Gwalior Cheetahs.
Royal Challengers Bengaluru's sensational batter Rajat Patidar, who scored five fifties and emerged as the third-highest run-getter for them this year, is the icon player for Malwa Panthers. Saransh Jain and Kuldeep Sen are the icon players for Jabalpur Lions and Rewa Jaguars, respectively.
