The first round of Duleep Trophy 2024, one of India's domestic red-ball competitions, will be held from September 5 to September 8. As per the modified format, four teams will feature in the event, which will be played on a round-robin basis. Team A will face Team B in the first match at the Rural Development Trust Stadium in Anantapur, while Team C will take on Team D in the second match at ACA ADCA Ground in Anantapur.
The BCCI recently named the four squads for the first round of Duleep Trophy 2024. Opener Shubman Gill has been named captain of Team A, Abhimanyu Easwaran will lead Team B, Ruturaj Gaikwad is in charge of Team C, and Shreyas lyer has been handed the reins of Team D.
Apart from Easwaran, all the other three captains also lead their respective Indian Premier League (IPL) franchises. A number of players who are part of the IPL have also been picked in the Duleep Trophy 2024 squads for the first round. Below is the IPL team-wise list of players selected for round one of 2024 Duleep Trophy.
Kolkata Knight Riders
Players selected: Shreyas lyer, Harshit Rana, KS Bharat
Three players from the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), who are the reigning IPL champions, will feature in Round 1 of Duleep Trophy 2024. As mentioned earlier, KKR skipper Shreyas will lead Team D. Pacer Harshit Rana, who made a big impact for the Kolkata franchise in IPL 2024, will also be part of Team D. KS Bharat is one of the keeper-batter options in the Shreyas-led squad for IPL 2024.
Mumbai Indians
Players selected: Suryakumar Yadav, Ishan Kishan, Tilak Varma, Anshul Kamboj
Four players from the Mumbai Indians (MI) camp will be part of Duleep Trophy 2024 in the opening round. Team India's T20I skipper Suryakumar Yadav and young MI pacer Anshul Kamboj will represent Team C. Keeper-batter Ishan Kishan will feature in Team D, while Tilak Varma will turn out for the Gill-led Team A.
SunRisers Hyderabad
Players selected: Mayank Agarwal, Washington Sundar, Umran Malik, Mayank Markande, Nitish Kumar Reddy (subject to fitness)
Five players from the SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH) have been picked to represent various Duleep Trophy 2024 squads in Round 1. Opener Mayank Agarwal is part of Team A, all-rounder Washington Sundar is in Team B, speedster Umran Malik and leg-spinner Mayank Markande will turn out for Team C. All-rounder Nitish Kumar Reddy has been named in Team B, but his availability is subject to fitness.
Punjab Kings
Players selected: Arshdeep Singh, Vidwath Kaverappa, Rahul Chahar, Atharva Taide
Four Punjab Kings (PBKS) players will be part of Duleep Trophy 2024 in the first round. Team India's left-arm pacer Arshdeep Singh and top-order batter Atharva Taide will turn out for Team D.
Pacer Vidwath Kaverappa will play for Team A, while leggie Rahul Chahar has been named in Team B.
Royal Challengers Bengaluru
Players selected: Akash Deep, Mohammed Siraj, Yash Dayal, Rajat Patidar, Vyshak Vijaykumar
Five players Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) will feature in Round 1 of Duleep Trophy 2024. Pacer Akash Deep is in Team A, while Mohammed Siraj and Yash Dayal are part of Team B. Batter Rajat Patidar and medium-pacer Vyshak Vijaykumar will represent Team C.
Rajasthan Royals
Players selected: Riyan Parag, Dhruv Jurel, Tanush Kotian, Avesh Khan, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Prasidh Krishna
As many as six players from the Rajasthan Royals (RR) have been named in Duleep Trophy 2024 squads for Round 1, although skipper Sanju Samson's name is missing from the list. Batting all-rounder Riyan Parag, keeper-batter Dhruv Jurel, bowling all-rounder Tanush Kotian and fast bowler Avesh Khan are all in Team A.
Pacer Prasidh Krishna, who has missed the last two IPL seasons due to injury, has also been included in Team A, while aggressive opener Yashasvi Jaiswal will represent Team B.
Chennai Super Kings
Players selected: Shivam Dube, Ravindra Jadeja, Ruturaj Gaikwad, Tushar Deshpande
Four players from Chennai Super Kings (CSK) have been picked in Duleep Trophy 2024 squads for Round 1. Bowling all-rounder Shivam Dube is in Team A, the versatile Ravindra Jadeja in Team B, and Gaikwad will lead Team C. Pacer Tushar Deshpande will represent Team D in opening round of the competition.
Lucknow Super Giants
Players selected: KL Rahul, Devdutt Padikkal
Two players from the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) will be part of the opening round of Duleep Trophy 2024. Experienced Team India batter and LSG skipper KL Rahul has been named in Team A, while Devdutt Padikkal will be part of Team D.
Delhi Capitals
Players selected: Kuldeep Yadav, Khaleel Ahmed, Kumar Kushagra, Rishabh Pant, Mukesh Kumar, Abishek Porel, Axar Patel, Ricky Bhui
As many as eight players from Delhi Capitals (DC) franchise have been named in Duleep Trophy 2024 squads for Round 1. DC skipper Rishabh Pant and pacer Mukesh Kumar are in Team B, while left-arm spinner Kuldeep Yadav, left-arm pacer Khaleel Ahmed and young keeper-batter Kumar Kushagra are in Team A.
All-rounder Axar Patel and batter Ricky Bhui are in Team D, while aggressive left-handed keeper-batter Abishek Porel is part of Team C.
