India v Australia - T20I Series: Game 5

The Qualifier 1 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 will see the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) lock horns with the SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH) at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Tuesday. The winner of the game will directly qualify for the final, while the loser will play Qualifier 2 to book a berth in the summit clash.

The two teams met earlier this season at Eden Gardens where KKR emerged victorious by four runs. The SunRisers almost chased down 209 runs, thanks to a power-hitting masterclass from Heinrich Klaasen, but Harshit Rana bowled an excellent last over to take the hosts home.

Another cracking contest beckons fans at the Narendra Modi Stadium tonight with more than 90000 fans expected to turn up for the much-anticipated contest.

The wicket at this venue is expected to assist the batters and a high-scoring game is on the cards. On that note, let's take a look at three batters who could score the most runs in today's KKR vs SRH Qualifier 1 match.

#1 Sunil Narine - KKR

The Kolkata management played the masterstroke by promoting Sunil Narine to open the innings. It has worked wonders with Narine amassing 461 runs in 13 games at a strike rate of 182.93, including a hundred and three half-centuries. Narine is currently the fifth-highest run-scorer in the tournament.

His partnership with Phil Salt at the top has been the cornerstone of KKR's campaign in IPL 2024. With Salt missing due to international commitments, the southpaw will have to assume more responsibilities against SRH.

Given the form Narine is in, he is likely to play a key knock if he gets his eyes in tonight.

#2 Abhishek Sharma - SRH

The young Hyderabad opener has been one of the best batters in this year's cash-rich league. His high bat lift, timing, and ability to strike the ball hard have attracted everyone, with many calling for his inclusion in the Indian side.

Abhishek Sharma is currently the ninth-highest scorer in the competition with 467 runs in 13 games at an astronomical strike rate of almost 210. The southpaw has hit the most sixes in the tournament - 41, which is a testament to his hitting abilities.

The youngster has looked in spectacular form of late and will hope to carry on the momentum against Kolkata as they look to confirm their berth in the final.

#3 Travis Head - SRH

There is no way you can leave Travis Head out of this list given the form he is in at present. The southpaw has taken batting to a whole new level since the 2023 ODI World Cup and carried on the form in IPL 2024.

Head is currently the third-highest scorer in the tournament with 533 runs from 12 games at an average of 48.45 and a strike rate of over 200. He has struck 61 boundaries and 31 sixes so far in the tournament.

The Aussie was out for a duck in the last game against the Punjab Kings and will look to bounce back with a match-winning knock tonight.
