Team India got off to a winning start in the three-match series against Bangladesh as they coasted to a seven-wicket victory in the opening T20I in Gwalior on Sunday, October 6. They got over the line with a whopping 49 balls remaining in front of a full house at the new stadium.

After Suryakumar Yadav won the toss and opted to bowl first, India's bowlers reduced the Tigers to 127 all-out in fairly comfortable fashion. The chase was always going to be a straightforward one, and a bunch of cameos ensured that the home side got the job done quickly.

On that note, here are India's player ratings from the first T20I against Bangladesh.


IND vs BAN 2024, 1st T20I: Bowlers shine for Men in Blue

Abhishek Sharma: 6/10

Abhishek got India off to a sizzling start before an error in judgment produced a run-out. He needs to be more careful with his running between the wickets, which has caused problems on multiple occasions lately.


Sanju Samson: 7.5/10

Samson struck a few delightful boundaries and seemed to be in pristine touch through the powerplay. The shot that brought about his downfall was on, but the execution was off.


Suryakumar Yadav: 7.5/10

Suryakumar played his trademark pickup shots and ensured that India didn't lose any momentum after the fall of the first wicket. He led well and played an important hand in the win.


Nitish Kumar Reddy: 6.5/10

On debut, Nitish grassed a catch and bowled two overs that went for 17 runs. He got to spend some time in the middle and was there when the winning runs were hit.


Hardik Pandya: 9/10

Hardik enjoyed a productive outing in Gwalior. His four-over spell produced a wicket, and he played a terrific 39-run unbeaten knock that featured plenty of noteworthy strokes.


Riyan Parag: 5/10

Parag didn't have much to do and receives a standard rating.


Rinku Singh: 6/10

The same goes for Rinku, who took a catch and didn't get to bat.


Washington Sundar: 7/10

Sundar's two overs were threatening, and he took a return catch as well. He could have perhaps been used more by Suryakumar.


Varun Chakaravarthy: 8/10

Chakaravarthy was at times erratic with his lengths upon his T20I comeback but turned in a solid display nevertheless. He picked up three wickets, with one of those being a beautiful googly that castled Jaker Ali.


Arshdeep Singh: 9/10

Arshdeep broke the back of the Bangladesh batting unit with his two-wicket burst in the powerplay and returned later in the piece to wrap up the innings. Without much help from the conditions, the left-arm seamer bowled well.


Mayank Yadav: 8.5/10

Mayank was sensational on his T20I debut as he showed incredible pace, accuracy and ability to move the ball. The express quick picked up a wicket, and every ball was an event.
