Henriques fined for breaching ICC Code of Conduct

Hyderabad, Feb 27 (IANS) Australia cricketer Moises Henriques has been fined 10 percent of his match fee for breaching the ICC Code of Conduct during the fourth day’s play in the first cricket Test match against India, which ended in Chennai on Tuesday.

Henriques was found to have breached Article 2.1.1 of the ICC Code of Conduct for Players and Player Support Personnel (the “Code”) which relates to “breach of the ICC’s Clothing and Equipment Regulations during an International Match”.

“The debutant was found to have a manufacturer’s logo on the chin strap of his helmet in breach of the specific requirements of the ICC’s Clothing and Equipment Regulations,” said an ICC statement on Wednesday.

Henriques accepted the Level 1 charge and the sanction proposed by Chris Broad of the Elite Panel of Match Referees. The charge was brought by on-field umpires Marais Erasmus and Kumar Dharmasena, third umpire Vineet Kulkarni and fourth umpire Krishnaraj Srinath.
