The Hundred Women’s League returns for its fourth edition hosted by the England Cricket Board (ECB). It started on Tuesday, July 23, and would span nearly a month concluding on Sunday, August 18. The 100-ball tournament consists of eight teams playing a total of 34 matches.
Trent Rockets are among the eight contenders in the League led by Nat Sciver-Brunt. In the previous season, they finished in the fourth position in the points table with seven points at an NRR of -0.003.
Bryony Smith emerged as the leading run-scorer for the Trent Rockers, amassing 226 runs across seven innings, closely followed by Nat Sciver-Brunt, who contributed 216 runs from the same number of innings. These two players were the sole members of the Trent Rockers to exceed the 200-run mark during the season.
Despite a commendable performance from the batting unit, the bowling department faced challenges in taking wickets. Kirstie Gordon stood out with 10 wickets, while the remaining bowlers managed only five wickets collectively, reflecting a below-par performance in terms of wicket-taking ability.
Building upon the previous season, the team has retained nine players while strengthening their roster with the additions of Grace Scrivens, Aylish Cranstone, Ashleigh Gardner, Heather Graham, and Katie George.
Aylish Cranstone and Natasha Wraith, both emerging talents, have been included in the squad via the wild-card entry process. This draft mechanism enables teams to acquire promising domestic players and enhance team strength.
