The Maharaja Trophy T20 2024 kicks off on August 15 in Bengaluru. A total of six teams will be competing in the tournament which will be played until September 1. M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru will be hosting all games of this edition.
The league stage will be played from August 15 to 29. A total of 30 matches will be played in the league stage, followed by three in the knockout stages. The two semi-finals will be held on August 30 and August 31, with the final scheduled to take place on Sunday, September 1.
The opening game of the Maharaja Trophy T20 2024 will see the Bengaluru Blasters take on the Gulbarga Mystics. The Shivamogga Lions will be locking horns with the Mysore Warriors in the second match.
The Shivamogga Lions were among the top four teams that qualified for the knockout stage last year. They won five games out of 10 in the league stage and qualified for the semi-finals. They lost to the Hubli Tigers in the first semi-final to get knocked out of the competition.
The Lions will be hoping to go all the way in the 2024 edition of the Maharaja Trophy T20. They have put up a good squad, consisting of a good blend of experienced and young players. Nihal Ullal has been handed the responsibility of leading the Shivamogga Lions.
S Shivaraj, Abhinav Manohar, Nihal Ullal, and Rohan Naveen are the experienced batters in the side. They will be playing a key role for the Shivamogga Lions in the Maharaja Trophy T20 2024. Bharath Dhuri is an experienced all-rounder in the side.
Vasuki Koushik, Hardik Raj, Anand Doddamani, and HS Sharath will be leading the bowling department for the Lions. They are the regular performers in the domestic circuit and their contribution will be key if the Lions are to go all the way in the Maharaja Trophy T20 2024.
