Full list of Montreal Tigers players for Global T20 Canada 2024 ft. Chris Lynn and Sherfane Rutherford

The fourth season of the Global T20 Canada is scheduled to commence on Friday, July 26, and conclude on Sunday, August 11. Cricket Canada will host the cricket tournament and will feature a total of 25 matches among six teams being played at the CAA Centre in Brampton, Ontario.

The defending champions Montreal Tigers secured victory over the Surrey Jaguars, winning the match by five wickets. Chris Lynn played a captain’s knock, scoring 31 runs from 35 deliveries following the early dismissal of Muhammed Waseem. Andre Russell's decisive contribution of a six-ball 20-run cameo included a match-winning maximum on the last ball, ensuring the Tigers emerged triumphant.

Sherfane Rutherford had a standout season with the bat, accumulating 220 runs across eight innings, trailing the season's top scorer Chris Lynn by just 14 runs. Recognizing his significant impact on the team, Rutherford was honored with the Player of the Series award.

Carlos Brathwaite emerged as the standout bowler for the Tigers, claiming 11 wickets across nine innings, including a crucial wicket in the final. Abbas Afridi and Aayan Khan also proved economical, finishing the season with 10 and nine wickets, respectively.

From the previous season, the squad has retained five players and bolstered the team with additions including Tim Seifert, Azmatullah Omarzai, Naveen-ul-Haq, and Gerhard Erasmus. Naveen-ul-Haq, who excelled in the recently concluded T20 2024 World Cup, impressed with 13 wickets at an economy rate of 6.00 from eight innings. Additionally, Omarzai contributed significantly with 111 runs during the tournament.

Gerhard Erasmus has showcased his ability to pick up wickets in the ICC CWC League 2 tournament with 14 wickets from six games.

Their first encounter against Bangla Tigers Mississauga is scheduled to take place on Friday, July 26.
