Miami Lions will participate in the first-ever edition of the Max60 Caribbean. Paul Woodford, the head coach of the University of Queensland Cricket Club, has been appointed as the head coach of the Miami Lions. Nick Perera, a Cricket Coach with a Cricket Australia Level 2 Qualification, has been roped in as the high-performance coach. Manas Bhardwaj is the team manager of the Miami Lions.
The Max60 Caribbean is a T10 tournament that will be played at the Jimmy Powell Oval Cricket Stadium in George Town, Grand Cayman. Five teams will participate in the tournament, which is scheduled to start on August 18 and conclude on August 25. The five teams are the Boca Raton Trailblazers, Caribbean Giants, Grand Cayman Jaguars, Miami Lions, and New York Strikers.
A total of 16 players have been named in the squad for this edition of the Max60 Caribbean 2024. Dwayne Bravo and Shoaib Malik, two of the most experienced players in T20 cricket are a part of the team.
Bravo last featured in the Major League Cricket for the Texas Super Kings. He took five wickets in four outings at an average of 22.60, an economy of 9.04, and a strike rate of 15. Malik was part of Pakistan Champions team in the World Championship of Legends. He was the leading run-scorer in the tournament and made 245 runs in seven innings at an average of 49.
Mohan Manivannan and Conroy Wright are the two Caymanian cricketers in the squad. Marc Taylor, a Bahamian cricketer, is also a part of the Miami Lions’ squad. Rohit Paudel, the Nepalese skipper, has also been picked in the team. Former Indian batter Unmukt Chand is also in the squad. Nikhil Chaudhary, the all-rounder from Punjab who played in the Big Bash League, is a part of the team as well.
