Max60 Caribbean 2024 is scheduled to start on Sunday, August 18. Five teams will participate in the competition - Boca Raton Trailblazers, Caribbean Giants, Grand Cayman Jaguars, Miami Lions, and New York Strikers. The inaugural edition of the tournament will be played in the T10 format.
Max60 Caribbean 2024 will host 25 matches, with the final being played on August 25. All the matches will be played at the Jimmy Powell Oval Cricket Stadium in Grand Cayman.
Former Indian batter Robin Uthappa was pre-signed by Grand Cayman Jaguars before the draft. The franchise signed the likes of Joshua Little, Logan van Beek, and Alex Hales in the draft.
Uthappa last played in the World Championship of Legends for the India Champions and emerged as the leading run-scorer for the team. He scored 225 runs in seven innings at an average of 32.14.
Halex, meanwhile, was part of the Trent Rockets side in the ongoing The Hundred, scoring 204 runs in eight matches at an average of 25.50 and a strike rate of 130.76.
Logan van Beek and Virandeep Singh, on the other hand, were part of the Surrey Jaguars team in the Canada GT20.
The team was called Grand Cayman Stingrays before changing the name to Grand Cayman Jaguar last week.
Harjinder Singh Dhanowa owns the team, while Ranjit Bagwe has been appointed CEO. Fahad Matadar, who manages Surrey Jaguars in the GT20 Canada, has been appointed the team manager of the Grand Cayman Jaguars. Former South African opener Herschelle Gibbs has been roped in as the team's head coach.
On August 10, the Grand Cayman Jaguars signed Sikandar Raza in a transfer from the Caribbean Giants.
