Ft. Lauderdale Lions have Tagenarine Chanderpaul as the star player in their squad for the Minor League Cricket 2024. Chanderpaul is the son of the legendary West Indies batter Shivnarine Chanderpaul, who flourished in Tests and ODIs for over a decade with his unorthodox stance.

In 10 Test matches thus far in his career, Tagenarine has scored 560 runs at an average of 32.94 with a top score of 207 not out to his name. In 24 List A matches, Tagenarine has scored 716 runs at an average of 29.83. He has yet to play T20 cricket in his career.

The focus will also be on leg-spin bowler Ryan Persaud, who was a part of the now-defunct Jamaica Tallawahs in the Caribbean Premier League (CPL). Having also represented USA U19, Persaud has a fair bit of experience.

Danza Hyatt is also expected to be a key player for the Lions in the new season. In 65 T20 matches in his career, Hyatt has scored 1141 runs at an average of 22.82 and a strike rate of 105.55 with four half-centuries to his name.

He also represented the West Indies in five T20Is in 2011 and 2012, scoring 64 runs with a top score of 28. Moreover, Hyatt has represented two teams in 18 matches in the CPL.

Ft. Lauderdale Lions are placed in the South Division along with Atlanta Fire, Atlanta Lightning, Baltimore Royals, Morrisville Raptors, and Orlando Galaxy.

They are scheduled to begin their campaign on Saturday, September 7, against the Morrisville Raptors at Church Street Park in Morrisville.
