A new franchise league is in the town. The Cayman Islands Cricket Association (CICA) has announced a new league named Max60 Caribbean. The inaugural edition of the Max60 Caribbean will be played from Sunday, August 18 to Sunday, August 25.

The Max60 Caribbean 2024 comprises league stage and the finals. A total of 20 games will be played in the league stage. The top three teams will qualify for the Super Three stage in which three games will be played. The top two teams will play the final which is scheduled to take place on August 25.

The Jimmy Powell Oval Cricket Stadium in George Town, Grand Cayman will be hosting all games of the Max60 Caribbean 2024. Five teams, namely, Boca Raton Trailblazers, Caribbean Tigers, Grand Cayman Jaguars, Miami Lions and New York Strikers will be competing for the title.

The opening game will see the New York Strikers square off against the Caribbean Tigers. This game will begin at 9:30 PM IST on August 18. Two well-balanced sides will be up against each other and expect a fierce battle on Sunday.

Zimbabwe T20I captain Sikandar Raza will be plying his trade for the Caribbean Tigers in the first edition of the Max60 Caribbean. He has plenty of experience at the highest level and will be playing a key role for the Tigers.

George Munsey and Chris Lynn form a dangerous opening pair for the Caribbean Tigers. Both can clear the fence with ease and will be looking to give flying starts to their team in the Max60 Caribbean 2024.

The bowling department comprises experienced Andrew Tye and Suranga Lakmal. Tye is brilliant with his change-ups in the death overs and his role will be crucial in the Tigers’ journey in the Max60 Caribbean 2024.

Ashley Nurse and Patrick Dooley are the lead spinners in the Tigers side and both will have to step up in the middle overs. Nurse can also hit a long ball and can contribute with the bat lower down the order.

The Caribbean Tigers have put a strong squad ahead of the inaugural edition of the Max60 Caribbean League and will be looking to go all the way and lift the title.
