The second Test of the three-match series between England and West Indies will begin on Thursday, July 18. Trent Bridge in Nottingham will be hosting this match.

England lead the series by a 1-0 margin after a comprehensive victory at the home of cricket i.e. Lord’s in London. They completely outplayed the West Indies and gave James Anderson a wonderful farewell as the legend bowed out of the highest level.

Debutant Gus Atkinson picked up a seven-fer to help England knock over the Windies on 121. The English batters then contributed to post 371 on the board to get a formidable lead of 250 runs.

The visitors faltered again in their second innings. None of their batters got going and as a result, got bundled out on 136 to lose the game by an innings and 114 runs. Atkinson had a sensational Test debut and picked up 12 wickets in the match.

England were ruthless in the opening game of the summer and defeated the West Indies in the capital city as the visitors didn’t stand any chance. Ben Stokes’ men will be looking to seal the series in Nottingham itself with a game to go.

West Indies’ batters displayed a very poor performance in the first Test. Adapting to the conditions will be the key for them heading into the second Test. They will be looking to put in a much-improved performance at Trent Bridge to keep the series alive.
