The CSA T20 Challenge 2024 will commence from Friday, September 27 to Saturday, October 27. Potchefstroom, Centurion, Durban, Bloemfontein, Paarl, Gqeberha, Potchefstroom, Johannesburg, and Cape Town are the nine venues for the T20 tournament.
The T20 tournament features eight teams including Rocks, Dolphins, Lions, Tuskers, Titans, North West Dragons, Warriors, and Western Province. Lions were the defending champions of the previous edition as they defeated Dolphins in the finals by seven wickets.
Matthew Breetzke (467) from Warriors was the highest-scorer. His teammates Siya Simetu and Beyers Swanepoel jointly led the most leaderboard with 21 wickets each.
The next edition will feature 27 league-stage matches leading up to the new format in the playoffs. The top four teams will move on to the knockout rounds, where the leading two teams in the points table will compete in Qualifier 1.
Meanwhile, the teams ranked third and fourth will face off in the Eliminator. The loser of Qualifier 1 will go up against the winner of the Eliminator in Qualifier 2. The final will be contested between the winners of both qualifiers. The knockout rounds and the final will take place at the Wanderers Stadium in Johannesburg.
Pieter Malan leads Rocks, while Keshav Maharaj captains the Dolphins. The other teams are captained by Bjorn Fortuin (Lions), Michael Erlank (Tuskers), Senuran Muthusamy (North West Dragons), Aiden Markram (Titans), Matthew Breetzke (Western Province), and Kyle Verreynne (Warriors).
