#1 World Cup 2019 trophy tour reaches Bengaluru

The World Cup is still six months away, but there is no dearth of enthusiasm for cricket's biggest global event. The marquee tournament's trophy tour is on, and currently in its India leg, the eighth stop for the silverware.

Having commenced its India journey with Mumbai, the next stop for the trophy is Bengaluru, where it will be on display 8th December onwards. Its next destination will be Kolkata, with New Delhi being the last stop before it leaves the country.

Described as the 'most connected trophy tour ever', the cup is scheduled to touch nine cities in 23 days.

#2 Gambhir fan runs onto pitch, takes selfie

India's retiring World Cup hero Gautam Gambhir has a tremendous fan following; be it because of his commendable on-field commitment to the game, or his activistic side off it, 'Gauti' has no dearth of supporters.

On Friday, the 37-year-old, playing the final game of his career, was greeted by a rogue fan, who jogged to the middle of the Feroz Shah Kotla to reportedly touch Gambhir's feet and capture an enviable selfie with the star.

Chasing the intruder on a foggy Delhi morning, a couple of policemen managed to capture him soon after, capping his dream meeting with some lathi hits.

#3 Pathan smacks 26 runs off one over

Its been over six years since Irfan Pathan last donned the India jersey, but much like Gambhir, the pacer-turned-allrounder has an army of fans. At 34, each passing day dims his hopes of making a comeback for the Indian team, but Pathan doesn't seem to be spent force as a cricketer just yet.

Playing for Jammu & Kashmir against Uttar Pradesh, Pathan used the long handle to stunning effect, hitting four consecutive sixes (just the fifth Indian to achieve the feat).

He joined Ravi Shastri, S Reuben Paul, Yashpal Sharma and Kapil Dev as one of the Indians to hit four or more consecutive sixes. Pathan ended with 91 off 76 balls.

#4 Poor attendance puts day-night games back in focus

It's been three years since the first day-night Test, but India, one of the top-ranked teams in the game, still seems reluctant to venture into the world of pink ball cricket.

Now, with the poor attendance at Adelaide for the opening day of the India-Australia Test, the host country's cricket board is reportedly urging the folks at BCCI to reconsider their stance.

On Day 1, only 24,000 ticket holders were present to witness the Australian bowling attack spew venom on the visitors, a low number considering how the opening day figures for day-night games have been in the past.

Speaking to SEN radio, CA chief executive Kevin Roberts said: "We think we would've had 15,000 or so interstate visitors if it was a day-night Test so there's no doubting we've lost that group of fans".

"It matters what the fans think and they've voted with their feet. Those numbers (from the day-night games in the last three years) are incredible so we're really excited about getting back to that in the future."
