Pakistani cricketer Wahab Riaz has been booked by Pakistani Police for violating the “one-dish” rule that exists in the province of Punjab.
His residence was raided on Sunday, with the police registering an FIR against him under section 188 of Pakistan Penal Code for breaching the rule of serving more than one dish at any marriage ceremony.
Riaz’s father Sheikh Sikandar was enraged by the incident and alleged that the police only raided the wedding looking for money and once their demands were not entertained, they decided to file a case against the fast bowler.
According to NDTV, Sidkandar said: “How could police raid and register a case against my son when we were holding the marriage function inside our house?”
An inquiry has been ordered by the Punjab government on the same.
