We are into Match 10 of the ICC Women's T20 World Cup 2024. Australia are set to take on New Zealand at the iconic Sharjah Cricket Stadium on Tuesday, October 8.

Both teams have had a superb start to the tournament, winning their opening encounters. While the defending champions Australia beat Sri Lanka, New Zealand upstaged Team India quite comfortably.

As mentioned earlier, Australia and New Zealand competed in a three-match T20I series just before the ICC Women's T20 World Cup 2024. Hosted by Australia, the series ended in a clean sweep victory for them.

The last T20I between the two teams was played in Brisbane, where the Kiwis opted to bat first. They made a superlative start, with them being 118/1 at one point. However, Georgia Wareham and Annabel Sutherland struck to restrict New Zealand to 146/6.

In reply, Australia saw contributions from every batter, with Ellyse Perry top-scoring (36). Tahlia McGrath hit the winning runs as Australia won by five wickets and as many balls to spare.
