India A emerged as the winner of the Duleep Trophy 2024, which concluded on Sunday, September 22. After losing their first game, India A made a strong comeback, winning their next two matches to claim the championship.

In their final match against India C, India A batted first. Shashwat Rawat starred with an impressive 124 runs, helping the team post 297 in their first innings. India C responded with 234 runs, thanks to Abishek Porel's contribution of 82.

Avesh Khan and Aaqib Khan took three wickets each, helping India A secure a 63-run lead in the first innings.

In their second innings, Riyan Parag (73) and Shashwat (53) notched half-centuries, allowing India A to declare at 286/8 and set a target of 350 runs for India C. Sai Sudharsan scored a solid 111.

However, the rest of the batting lineup faltered, and India C was bowled out for 217, resulting in a 132-run loss. Prasidh Krishna and Tanush Kotian took three wickets each for India A.

#1 Anshul Kamboj

Haryana cricketer Anshul Kamboj represented India C in the 2024 Duleep Trophy, with the team finishing as runners-up.

The 23-year-old was the tournament’s leading wicket-taker, claiming 16 wickets in three matches, including a five-wicket haul. His standout performance came in the Round 2 match against India B, where he took eight wickets in an innings, conceding 69 runs over 27.5 overs.

Anshul was a key player for India C throughout the tournament, showcasing his impressive bowling skills. Earlier this year, he made his IPL debut with the Mumbai Indians.

Overall, Anshul has played 16 first-class matches, taking 40 wickets, and has appeared in 15 List-A games, picking up 23 wickets. His talent has caught attention, making him a strong candidate for a national call-up in the near future.


#2 Navdeep Saini

Navdeep Saini replaced Mohammed Siraj in Team B and made a strong impression with his all-around skills in the first match against India A. Coming in at 94/7, he forged a remarkable 205-run partnership with Musheer Khan (181) for the eighth wicket.

Saini scored 56 runs off 144 balls, helping India B finish their first innings at 321. He also took five wickets in the match, leading his team to a 76-run victory.

The right-arm bowler was the tournament's third-highest wicket-taker, with 14 scalps across three games, including a five-wicket haul in the Round 3 match against India D. He has played two Test matches for India, taking four wickets, and has also represented the country in eight ODIs and 11 T20Is.

Saini will be eager to maintain his impressive form and make a return to the Indian squad.


#3 Vijaykumar Vyshak

Vijaykumar Vyshak claimed 10 wickets in three matches during the Duleep Trophy 2024 for India C. The Karnataka cricketer consistently bowled at good length and maintained accuracy, with his standout performance occurring in the Round 3 match against India A, where he took four wickets in the first innings.

The 27-year-old has consistently excelled in domestic cricket, taking 39 wickets in eight matches for Karnataka during the 2023-24 Ranji Trophy season. In total, he has played 23 first-class games and has taken 96 wickets.


#4 Manav Suthar

Manav Suthar is being viewed as a long-term replacement for Ravindra Jadeja. In the 2024 Duleep Trophy, the bowling all-rounder took 10 wickets for India C over three matches, including a five-wicket haul. Additionally, the left-handed batter scored 111 runs at an average of 27.75, featuring one half-century.

Just 22, he has played 17 first-class matches, claiming 75 wickets, including four five-wicket hauls. He has also amassed 599 runs, with four fifties to his name. Manav has demonstrated his bowling skills and, with his ability to bowl long spells, he could be a valuable asset for the Indian team in the years to come.


#5 Harshit Rana

Harshit Rana has emerged as one of the most improved bowlers, garnering attention with his recent performances. He claimed 19 wickets in 13 matches for the Kolkata Knight Riders in IPL 2024.

The Delhi pacer was selected for the first two T20Is in a five-match series against Zimbabwe and earned his first ODI call-up against Sri Lanka, though he did not play. He continued to excel in the Duleep Trophy, taking eight wickets in two matches.

At just 22 years of age, he has played nine first-class games, claiming 36 wickets. With his current form, Harshit is well on his way to representing the national team.
