Team India cruised to a 133-run win over Bangladesh in the third and final T20I at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium on Saturday, October 12. With the victory, the Men in Blue completed a series whitewash over the Tigers across formats.
India have been one of the teams to watch out for in the shortest format over the last year or so. They clinched the 2024 T20 World Cup and have been in excellent form in bilateral assignments as well.
Things seem to be shaping up well for Suryakumar Yadav and company as they attempt to build toward the next edition of the T20 World Cup. On that note, here are three major positives for India from their T20I series win over Bangladesh.
#3 Hardik Pandya's hitting form against both pace and spin was sensational
Hardik Pandya had a miserable campaign in the 2024 Indian Premier League, but he's going from strength to strength. The all-rounder was decent with the bat in the T20 World Cup and took his hitting to another level against Bangladesh.
Hardik was rightfully adjudged the Player of the Series after coming up with sizzling cameos in each of the three matches. In a welcome sign, he hit both pace and spin right from the outset, on both sides of the wicket. The former T20I skipper seemed to be striking the ball at a degree of efficiency that had been lost over the last few years, especially against pace.
India will be delighted to see Hardik's sustained improvement, given that he is one of the team's most important players.
#2 Mayank Yadav played all three matches and stood out

India chose to give Mayank Yadav his maiden international call-up against Bangladesh. The fast bowler, who spent a sustained period at the NCA, played all three matches and bowled his entire quota of overs on each occasion.
Mayank was also trusted at various stages of the innings. While he bowled the last over of the powerplay on his debut, he took the new ball in the final T20I. The express quick also sent down a couple of overs at the death, gaining exposure across phases.
In a huge positive for India, Mayank hit high speeds and seemed in a decent rhythm throughout. He got a bit of movement in the air and off the pitch, and his bouncers were almost impossible to counter.
#1 India's attacking batting approach seems to be clicking
Suryakumar Yadav has been vocal about wanting to play an attacking brand of cricket, and India's batters bought into the philosophy. In the second and third T20Is against Bangladesh, when the Men in Blue batted first, they amassed two huge totals.
In Delhi, India made 221 despite losing three wickets in the powerplay, with Nitish Kumar Reddy and Rinku Singh pulling them out of trouble. In Hyderabad, Sanju Samson led the way, with Suryakumar, Hardik, and Riyan Parag chipping in at the other end. In that contest, the hosts nearly hit the 300-run mark.
Not only did India stick to their word and bat aggressively, but the approach also yielded dividends. That will hold the team in great stead over the next few months.
