T20 World Cup 2022: What is the last date for teams to make changes to their T20 World Cup squad?

All 16 nations that will be taking part in the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2022 from October 16 to November 13 have named their squads for the mega event, which will be played in Australia.

The tournament will begin with First Round matches, which will feature eight teams that have been divided into two groups. Namibia, Netherlands, Sri Lanka, and the United Arab Emirates are in Group A, while Ireland, Scotland, West Indies, and Zimbabwe are in Group B. The winners and runners-up of the First Round will join eight teams who have already qualified for the Super 12 round, which kicks off on October 22.

While all teams have announced their 15-member squads, there is a debate in some nations over possible changes. All-rounder Cameron Green is not part of Australia’s T20 World Cup 2022 squad. However, his excellent performance in India in the T20I series that ended on Sunday, September 25, has put him in the spotlight.

Also, a few pacers in Team India’s squad who have been picked for the ICC event are struggling for rhythm. Pakistan too might be pondering changes to their original T20 World Cup 2022 squad. But are teams allowed to alter their T20 World Cup squad, even if the players are not suffering from any injury concerns? Yes, they are.

As per ICC’s ruled laid down for the event in Australia, all teams have until October 9 to make changes to their squads. After that, they'll need to have any squad changes sanctioned by the ICC.
