Analysis, Opinion, Listicle, Interview, Humour - if you’ve got anything new and unique to say, then go ahead!
News - We don’t accept rehashed content. You can submit a news article for publishing, but only if it hasn’t been published anywhere else, i.e., only if you are in direct touch with the primary source of the news.
When will my article get published?
All time-sensitive articles are published within 4 hours of being submitted.
Timeless articles could take a little longer to publish, but not more than 8 hours.
How can I improve my earnings?
1) Slideshows in general get more readership than single-page articles.
2) Timeless topics (focusing on all-time lists) generate revenue for a longer period of time.
3) Sportskeeda has 1000+ writers active on the platform, and on average a writer contributes 20 articles a month generating $200.
Is there a lower/upper word limit for my articles?
A feature article (i.e. analysis/opinion/listicle) should be at least 500 words long.
A news article should be at least 300 words long.
Why was my article rejected?
Sportskeeda’s editorial team carefully screens and edits every article. There can be one or more reasons for rejection, some of which are as follows:
1. It is badly written (contains more than 10 language/grammatical errors).
2. Any part of the article is plagiarized (either direct words and phrases or ideas).
3. It is irrational or without factual backing.
4. It is is poorly researched.
5. It spews hatred against any particular player, team, community, country or region.
6. It pokes fun at any person or player based on physical appearances.
7. It is insensitive towards any player or belittles the achievements of any player (eg an article listing the top 10 dumbest cricketers in the world).
8. It is a news article that is sourced/rehashed from another publication.
How can I make money out of my Sportskeeda articles?
We have a dashboard where you can see your earnings on a daily basis! Fully transparent, no subjectivity; what you see is what you get!
When do I get paid?
The earnings from your articles in any month will be paid by the 20th of the next month, assuming you have crossed the minimum threshold for payment. (US, UK, AU, NZ - US$50, India - INR 1000, Rest of the World - US$50).
If the minimum threshold is not reached in a given month, the amount would keep accruing till you reach the threshold, and will be paid on the 20th of the succeeding month.
How will I get paid?
All writers are paid via electronic bank transfer or via PayPal.
Why are my articles having similar page views paying out differently?
Views from different countries get paid different amounts. Reads from developed countries generally yield a higher revenue. Hence, articles having similar views but from different geographies will have different payouts.
How can I become a Featured writer at Sportskeeda?
There is no set formula to become a Featured Writer. There are a lot of factors considered before a writer earns this title, some of which are as follows:
1. Frequence of writing
2. Quality of writing
3. Number of Editor’s Picks awarded by the editors
4. Number of exclusive interviews or breaking news written.
