Missouri wide receiver Luther Burden III has exited his side's Week 7 CFB game against UMass on Saturday. The star wideout landed on his left arm after a UMass defender collided with him in the air on an elevated pass from quarterback Brady Cook early in the third quarter.

It took Burden some time to get off the turf before trainers examined him. He subsequently entered the medical tent on the sideline.

Burden remained on the sideline after being examined in the medical tent. Before the injury, he had a stellar game, with seven receptions for 127 receiving yards and a touchdown.

How has Luther Burden III performed this season?

Luther Burden III is in his junior year at Missouri. The St. Louis-born pass catcher is having a solid season with the Tigers.

Burden has amassed 26 receptions for 339 yards and four touchdowns in five games before today. He is the star wide receiver on a Tigers side that has racked up four wins out of their opening five games in 2024.

Who could replace Luther Burden III?

Luther Burden III is a key part of Eli Drinkwitz's offense. The team takes advantage of his silky route running and impressive catching skills. However, if he's going to miss a game or two, the Tigers have two players who could do a job in his absence.

Mekhi Miller is next in line on the depth chart, with the junior season wideout being a veteran in the team's system. Miller was a three-star recruit from Blue Valley North High School in Overland Park, Kansas. He appeared in 11 games last season and amassed 11 catches for 148 yards and a touchdown. His height and trucking ability could offer something unique in case Burden misses time.

Daniel Blood is the next in line for the position. The sophomore pass catcher has a similar height to Burden, even though he's slightly lighter. Blood featured in 10 games for the Tigers last season, and looks primed for a bigger role if Burden needs to take some time off on the sidelines. In the meantime, he'll be used on special teams and select packages.
