The Utah Utes are six-point favorites on the road while the over/under is set at 45 points.

The Utes are coming off a disappointing upset loss as Cam Rising didn't play due to injury. Utah coach Kyle Whittingham said there is a chance the quarterback could play on Friday.

"We'll see what happens this week, but there's a chance," Whittingham said via SI. "It's still early in the week, but we're crossing our fingers and hoping for the best, as is Cam."

Whittingham says the decision comes down to the medical staff. If Rising can't go, Isaac Wilson will remain the starter who Whittingham has been impressed with but knows there is room for improvement.

"I would say his entire game just needs to continue to get tighter and better. Cut down on the interceptions, first of all…But there's not any one glaring area where you can say he's really lacking in this or that," Whittingham said.
"He's a freshman; a true freshman. There's going to be a learning curve, there's going to be mistakes made that you're going to have to live with. The more reps he accrues and the more playing time he gets, the less those mistakes will show up and trending in the right direction. That's really what you're looking for."

Utah has also been led by Micah Bernard, who has rushed for 547 yards and a touchdown. On defense, the Utes are led by Van Fillinger, who has 5.5 sacks, and Tao Johnson has 29 sacks.

Arizona State, meanwhile, has been led by quarterback Sam Leavitt who threw for four touchdowns last week. However, ASU has only six days between games while Utah has a bye week so coach Kenny Dillingham says that could be a problem.

"Unfortunately, we play a Friday night game, and Utah's off a bye," said Dillingham after Arizona State's victory, via SI. "So I don't know how we got a schedule where we have six days, and they have a bye week. But it's possibly the worst scenario you could ever have ... having a short week when another team has a bye."

With Utah having the extra week to prepare, the Utes should come out strong, with or without Cam Rising under center. Utah has a solid defense which should limit ASU's offense.

The Utes also have a chip on its shoulder after the upset loss as Utah will edge out a competitive win on the road to keep their Big 12 championship hopes alive.

Prediction: Utah 28, Arizona State 20.
