UCLA is a 4.5-point underdog on the road against Rutgers, while the over/under is set at 41 points.

The Bruins have struggled this season as UCLA has lost five straight games. In the loss to Minnesota, UCLA led 10-0 at the half but fell apart at home to lose again.

“It was a tale of two halves. We came out in the first half and played well, outscored them 10-0, and pretty much didn’t really execute or, the attention to detail wasn’t there," coach DeShaun Foster said, via the team website.
"The discipline that we need to play in the second half wasn’t there at all. We are a one-half team right now. I have to find a way to get these guys to come out and approach the second half like we do [with] the first half of games.
"Until we do that, we aren’t going to be able to get out of our own way, and we are going to continue to take losses like this.”

The Bruins are led by Ethan Garbers, who has thrown for 1,101 yards, 4 touchdowns, and 9 interceptions. Defensively, the team has recorded just three interceptions and nine sacks, while Carson Schwesinger leads the way with 62 tackles and two sacks.

Rutgers, meanwhile, is coming off back-to-back losses and coach Greg Schiano said the team's performance against Wisconsin was unacceptable.

"Thanks for coming out, guys. It's been kind of a tough 45 or so hours since the game," Schinao said, via the team website. "But as I said Saturday, I'll say it again that was unacceptable.
"Our performance, my coaching, and really, tried to look at everything we possibly could all the way until about midnight last night and moved on to UCLA. What basically the findings are is there's no one major thing. It's a bunch of little things. Details of execution. Details of coaching."

Rutgers will look to turn the page as they are led by QB Athan Kaliakmanis, who's thrown for 1,050 yards, 8 touchdowns, and 4 interceptions. Running back Kyle Monangai has rushed for 739 yards and seven touchdowns.

Although UCLA has struggled this season, Schiano isn't overlooking them. Instead, he believes the Scarlet Knights need to be on their best to have success.

"It will be a great opportunity to go out and play in front of a great crowd, one that deserves better than what we gave them, and that's our goal to go and be 1-0 the at end of this UCLA season and get back on track," Schiano said.
"I'm very confident that we can do that but there's a very good team on the other side. You can be fooled by the record; don't be.
"When you look they have played a very, very competitive schedule and really, really tough schedule and have played and been competitive in each of the games," Schiano added.

Ultimately, teams traveling multiple time zones have struggled, and that should be the case for UCLA here. Rutgers offense has struggled at times but their defense is legit and will lead the Scarlet Knights to a win.

Prediction: Rutgers 20, UCLA 13.
