Week 4 of the 2024 college football season has come and gone, and there are fewer undefeated teams than there were going into the week. However, it is still early in the season, and some teams have barely started their conference matchups. So, with several undefeated teams still around, it can be hard to determine which ones are best.

When looking at undefeated teams, it can be hard to differentiate. To do this, you must look at the quality of each team's roster, their opponents and expectations. These are the top five undefeated teams after Week 4.

#1 Texas

Texas (4-0) took the top spot in the AP Top 25 poll last week, and nothing that happened this week should knock it off the top spot. The Longhorns remain undefeated after defeating Louisiana-Monroe 51-3 this week. They have done well defeating lesser opponents like the Warhawks, UTSA and Colorado State. Additionally, the Longhorns defeated No. 18-ranked Michigan in Week 2.

The one question mark around Texas is at the quarterback position. It is not certain when Quinn Ewers will return, but fortunately for the Longhorns, Arch Manning has performed well in the meantime.

#2 Georgia

Georgia (3-0) did not play this week, so there is no reason to knock it off the No. 2 spot in the rankings. The Bulldogs started the season strong with a 34-3 win over No. 21-ranked Clemson and followed it up with a dominant performance against Tennessee Tech.

Although they barely beat Kentucky 13-12 in Week 3, AP Top 25 voters kept the Bulldogs at No. 2, so there is no reason to move them down after an open week.

#3 Tennessee

Tennessee (4-0) was ranked sixth in the nation after last week, but a win over No. 15 Oklahoma will likely move it up the list. The Volunteers got their first ranked win of the season after holding unranked opponents to 13 points combined in the first three weeks of the season.

#4 Ole Miss

Ole Miss (4-0) has not had a major test yet this season. However, the Rebels have done a good job of not letting any unranked teams keep games close. The Rebels' closest game of the season came in Week 3, and they still won 40-6 over Wake Forest.

#5 Ohio State

Ohio State (3-0) is another team that has not been tested yet, but based on preseason expectations, the Buckeyes still need to be ranked highly. They have done a good job of putting opponents away early and did so again this week with a 49-14 win over Marshall.
