Heading into Week 6, 2024 has already been an outstanding season for collegiate wide receivers. Standout pass catchers and making more and more game-breaking plays each week. With Week 6 looming ahead, here are 10 wide receivers to watch in their Week 6 action.
Top 10 wide receivers to watch for in Week 6
#10. Denzel Boston, Washington
A 6-foot-4 target, Boston caught only five passes last year for Washington. This year, he already has 30 catches for 412 yards and seven touchdowns. That's the second most receiving scores in the nation. The athletic Michigan secondary should be an excellent Week 6 test for Boston.
#9. Skyler Bell, UConn
Bell is a transfer from Wisconsin where he started two games a season ago. The 6-foot junior has had a breakthrough season for UConn in 2024. Bell has 21 catches for 500 yards and four touchdowns. He managed three scores last week against Buffalo and has a chance to light up the scoreboard again versus Temple.
#8. Andrew Armstrong, Arkansas
A senior standout, Armstrong was brilliant a year ago for the Hogs. In 2023, he led Arkansas with 56 catches for 764 yards and five touchdowns. He's on the same track this season, already making 29 catches for 420 yards. The Hogs could use a massive game from Armstrong against Tennessee in Week 6.
#7. Devonte Ross, Troy
Ross was a solid contributor for the Trojans in 2023 with 40 catches for 428 yards. He has certainly upped his production this season, posting 29 catches for 529 yards and six touchdowns. Troy faces Texas State on Thursday, so plenty of eyes will be on Ross this week.
#6. Jack Bech, TCU
A 6-foot-2 senior, Bech caught only 12 passes last season at TCU. So far this year, he has 35 receptions for 647 yards and six touchdowns. Other than minimal time in a Week 2 blowout win, Bech has six or more catches for 130 or more yards in every other game this season.
#5. Nick Nash, San Jose State
A 6-foot-3 senior, Nash was San Jose State's top pass catcher a season ago. In 2023, he finished with 48 catches for 728 yards and eight touchdowns. He's on pace to blow past those marks this season, having already managed 50 catches for 637 yards and eight scores. Nash leads the nation in catches and touchdowns receiving.
#4. Jeremiah Smith, Ohio State
Everybody knew the 6-foot-3 freshman was going to be good. But did anybody expect this much? Smith has 19 catches for 364 yards and five touchdowns. Smith leads the Buckeyes in those last two categories. He is on pace to be not just a freshman All-American but an overall All-American.
#3. Tetairoa McMillan, Arizona
The Wildcats got a big win over Utah even with a so-so game from McMillan. Still, the 6-foot-5 junior remains one of the nation's top receivers. He has 29 receptions for 503 yards and four touchdowns through just four games. Saturday's game with Texas Tech is another chance for a big game for McMillan.
#2. Ryan Williams, Alabama
In any other year, Jeremiah Smith would be the easy top freshman wide receiver in the country. This isn't any other year. The 6-foot-1 Williams has 16 catches for 462 yards and five touchdowns for Alabama. His 75-yard catch and run might be the play of the season after Georgia rallied from a 30-7 halftime deficit to take the lead over the Tide. Williams's 28.9 yards per catch leads the nation.
#1. Tre Harris, Ole Miss
Harris's Rebels lost to Kentucky, but it wasn't his fault. The 6-foot-2 senior has been the most consistent receiver in the country. Harris has 49 catches for 804 yards and five touchdowns. He leads the nation in receiving yards and is second in receptions. Furthermore, he has caught eight or more passes in every game and managed 94 or more receiving yards in each game.
