TCU is a three-point favorite on the road against SMU on Saturday. The over/under is set at 58.5 points. It's also the third meeting between the Dallas-Fort Worth rivals for the Iron Skillet.

TCU heads on the road for the first time since Week 1 when the Horned Frogs beat Stanford. TCU is coming off an upset loss to UCF at home in a game that saw quarterback Josh Hoover dominate as he went 35-for-52 for 402 yards and four touchdowns. Hoover has thrown 119 pass attempts without an interception, the most pass attempts without a pick.

SMU coach Rhett Lashlee knows Hoover is one the top quarterbacks in the country and defending him will be tough.

"Quarterback [Josh Hoover] is a really good player. He’s solid, he’s accurate, he gets the ball out. If you give him an opportunity, he’s going to make you hurt. He’s not going to miss open guys,” Lashlee said on Wednesday.

SMU, meanwhile, has changed quarterbacks as Preston Stone was benched for Kevin Jennings. Given this is Jennings' first start of the season, TCU coach Sonny Dykes says preparing for the QB switch is difficult.

“That’s the hard part about when you change quarterbacks and when you change quarterbacks on an open date. It can be very difficult to prepare for. You’ve gotta really do a good job of trying to project what you’re going to see and trying to prepare your team so you don’t get in the middle of the game and you’re kind of in scramble mode," Dyke said on Monday, via LoneStarLive.com.
"We’re going to have to show them some different looks this week and just try and get them ready to play football, try not to overcomplicate it. I’m sure there will be a little bit more quarterback run game; my guess is more quick game, move-the-pocket type things. But a lot remains to be seen. We really honestly have no idea.”

Jennings replaced Stone in SMU's Week 2 loss to BYU as he went 15-for-32 for 140 yards and an interception. Although the Mustangs made the QB switch, SMU's offense is still a mess and should struggle against TCU's defense here.

Jennings will likely throw an interception or two that will help TCU score more points as the Horned Frogs should go on the road and get a win here.

Prediction: TCU 33, SMU 27
