As per reports, Bush's mansion in Encino was nearly broken into on Tuesday night. However, the former USC star's quick actions helped prevent any crime before it began.

Reports from TMZ claim that Bush immediately began yelling when one person smashed one of the windows of his home, which led to the burglars fleeing the area.

Bush purchased his Encino mansion in 2019 for a whopping $5.65 million. The estate, which is both walled and gated off, also came with an alarm system and surveillance cameras.

When the police showed up at Bush's residence, they found broken glass near the rear entry of the house. However, reports suggest that nothing was stolen from the home.

LAPD officer Charles Miller said a resident in the house heard the window break. It was also reported that the suspects were dressed in black and fled the scene in a white crossover vehicle before the police arrived. The investigation is currently ongoing and being handled by West Valley detectives.

Is Reggie Bush okay?

Bush confirmed that he was safe after an attempted burglary at his home.

“Everyone is safe,” Bush said in a text message to The Times.

At the time of writing, it's unclear whether Bush's wife and daughter were also home at the time of the attempted break-in.

Bush played three seasons with the USC Trojans from 2003 to 2005. He racked up 433 rushes for 3,169 yards and 25 touchdowns, along with 95 receptions for 1,301 yards and 13 touchdowns in his collegiate career.

Bush won the 2005 Heisman Trophy, but his award was vacated in 2010 for reportedly violating NCAA rules. Nonetheless, 14 years later, his Heisman was reinstated amid rule changes in the NCAA.

Bush also played 11 years in the NFL. The running back won the Super Bowl with the New Orleans Saints in 2010. He also played for the Miami Dolphins, Detroit Lions, San Francisco 49ers and Buffalo Bills before retiring in 2017.
