Oklahoma will be transitioning to the Southeastern Conference in the 2024 college football season. The Sooners will be moving to their new destination alongside arch-rival, Texas.

To be able to compete in the SEC, Brent Venables’ team has to be able to recruit as the likes of Alabama, Georgia and others. They are assembling a noteworthy group in the class of 2025, who could play a crucial role in the future of the program.

Top three players in the class of 2025 who have committed to Oklahoma

#3, Trystan Haynes, CB

Trystan Haynes is a top cornerback prospect who is admired due to his unique ability and perceived versatility. He is ranked the No. 107 prospect in the class of 2025 by 247Sports and No. 12 in his position.

Haynes is a dynamic playmaker across all phases, who is considered capable of excelling as a receiver, showcasing versatility. Despite a lean build, he has the necessary height to thrive as a cornerback. He is also agile in man coverage and boasts an impressive recovery speed.

He had scholarship offers from top programs the likes of Alabama, Georgia, Notre Dame, Arkansas, Baylor and a host of others. However, he gave his commitment to the Sooners.

#2, Ryan Fodje, OT

Ryan Fodje is the highest-rated offensive lineman recruit for Oklahoma in the class of 2025 and he is bound to bring something different to the program's offensive line when he enrolls. Per 247Sports, he is ranked as the No. 89 overall prospect in his class and the No.8 in his position.

Fodje has displayed some versatility on the offensive line in high school. With experience at right tackle as a junior, his athleticism and frame indicate significant potential for development at either tackle position. He's nimble and adept at adjusting the arc to redirect pass rushers.

He gave his commitment to play college football at Norman following offers from the likes of Arkansas, Baylor, California, Kansas, Maryland, and a couple of others.

#1, CJ Nickson, DE

CJ Nickson is the highest-rated Oklahoma recruit in the class of 2025. The four-star defensive end is rated as the No. 79 prospect in his class by 247Sports and also the No. 9 in his position. The Weatherford native is also the highest-rated prospect for the state of Oklahoma.

Nickson is a versatile defender who can play as an edge rusher and a linebacker. He is also sometimes deployed to cover the slot. One of his most admirable attributes on the defense is the brilliant ability to change direction in pursuit and the way he rapidly closes in on targets.

He had offers from the likes of Auburn, Baylor, Kansas Mississippi, Notre Dame and a host of others before deciding to stay in-state and commit to the Sooners.
