Northwestern is a 10-point underdog, while the over/under is set at 46.5 points.

The Wildcats have struggled this season and are coming off a blowout loss to Indiana. Northwestern's offense has struggled this season as the Wildcats have gone between Jack Lausch and Mike Wright at quarterback.

The loss to Indiana was disappointing for Northwestern coach David Braun, who was frustrated with his offense.

“Very disappointed in the result,” Braun said, via Sportsnet. “There was some momentum on the offensive side of the ball. We weren’t able to get some critical stops on the defensive side of the ball.”

Heading into the game against Maryland, Braun has confidence his team is better than what their record indicates.

"We're sitting at 2-3 and we can't change that record but I think this football team is confident that we have more within us," he said, via Rivals. "I think the challenge in front of us is to go be at our best against Maryland and do everything in our power to return back to Evanston at 3-3 at the halfway point."

On defense, Northwestern is led by Anto Saka, who has 2.5 sacks and Xander Mueller has 36 tackles.

Maryland, meanwhile, has also struggled, but quarterback Billy Edwards Jr. has been solid as he's thrown for 1,444 yards, 11 touchdowns, and 2 interceptions. Edwards has been a surprise and Maryland coach Mike Locksley called him a star.

"He is a bonafide star at quarterback," said Locksley, via Wmar2news. "You never hear people talk about... I ain’t hear his name spoken about this weekend as I watched a lot of TV and a lot of games. He is one of the highest rated quarterbacks in the country. I know we had this narrative because he's a backup. Well, he is our starter and he is playing at a pretty high level."

Maryland has also been led by Tai Felton who has 642 receiving yards and five touchdowns. On defense, Glendon Miller has four picks and Cale Wheatland has two sacks.

The Terrapins have the better offense and defense and being at home should allow Maryland to cruise to a win. Edwards should carve up the Wildcats' defense and Maryland coming off a bye also helped them prepare for this one.

The Terrapins' defense should also force an interception or two to set up the offense in a scoring position.

Prediction: Maryland 31, Northwestern 17
